COMMITTEE: Security Council
TOPIC: North Korean threat: which sanctions to adopt?
SPONSOR: Sweden

The Security Council,
Reminding all member states that the North Korean adoption of nuclear weaponry is a threat to all world-citizens,
Bearing in mind that the North Korean citizens are brainwashed by Kim-regime-strengthening propaganda into believing that no country is better than theirs, and therefor taking into account that they live in extreme poverty,
Emphasizing that all humans want peace, and that nuclear war will result in the annihilation of the planet because of the attack/counter-attack phenomenon,
Regretting that the Kim regime has failed to put and end to missile launches and nuclear testing despite previous sanctions, and these have thus proven to be ineffective,
Stressing the importance of the North Korean attendance at the 2018’s Winter Olympics in Pyeong Chang in relaxing regional tensions,

1. Is pleased to announce the Swedish Under Secretary-General Feltman's recent visit to the DPRK as this proves their initiative to smooth out relations;
2. Urges the council to promote the diplomatic route rather than the submission by force with which the President of the United States has threatened, as this will have definitive and mortal consequences;
3. Calls for the continuous initiative to integrate North Korea into the world community such as the Olympics, rather than isolate them and thereby aggravating them further;
4. Encourages all member states to take on Sweden’s anti-war mentality in promoting peace, such as they have during the First World War and later in the Middle East Peace Process;
5. Congratulates the Council’s redirection to a peaceful approach through the Resolution 2397 after the North Korean launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile on 28 November 2017;
6. Solemnly affirms the need to implement positive propaganda within the the North Korean population to bring its citizens out of the ignorance instigated by the Kim regime, as every human’s right to freedom comes from their ability to have choices.
